Printmaking

Image
Description:     We drew and ocean scene on a piece of paper and then traced it into styrofoam. We then colored on it with markers to make the print. then got a sheet of watercolor paper wet and pressed on to the styrofoam to transfer the print. Activity: I would use this as a way for us to talk about the ocean and all of the animals in it. Then let them create their own ocean.

Cupcake art

Image
Description:     we drew 3 different types of cupcakes and one we used water colors, one we used markers, and the last one we used crayons to color the picture. we also added shading to the cupcake and the background top half had to be lighter then the bottom. Activity: I would use this in an activity to talk about health vs unhealthy food and make posters to put around the school.

Basket weaving

Image
Descriptions:     We took two large pieces of construction paper and cut one in to 1 inch strips all the way down. Next we took the other sheet and left a 1 inch gap on each side and the cut the paper in one inch strips. Finally you weave the one inch strip through it. Once we were done we drew objects that represented us. Activity: I think that I would keep this the same but find someone who could come talk about Native American basket weaving.

Safari Scavenger Hunt

Image
Description:     In this activity we talked about Warm and Cool colors and how you can cover cool colors with warm colors. This one that we drew an animal in blue and the made shapes over the animal with warm colors. Next we would make glasses out of red see through film.  Extension Activity: I would do something similar but have a range of animals to let everyone choose and different animal. Then we would with draw it in red or blue and then chose either red or blue film.

Van Gough

Image
Description:      For this activity we looked at art work of Vincent Van Gough and recreated his Starry Nights in our own way. We used the aspects of swirls and recreated it with tissue paper and a glue like substance to adhere it to the paper. Then we took construction paper and made some type of land form. Then with crayon or oil pastels we drew lines to enhance the art. Extension Activity: Think a fun activity to relate this to would be the northern lights and letting the children be creative with the colors. Also adding stars to the pictures to make it look more like a sky.

Foot print Introductions

Image
Descriptions: In this Activity, we introduced ourselves with our foot print. It was required for our foot print that we include 3 different media types, our names, and we needed to use proper spacing of our images.  Extension Activity: This would be a good ice breaker activity to let the children be able to introduce themselves in creative ways.
